Radio at Risk

So, I’ve heard this ad on my favorite local radio station (Legends 102.7), and thought I would check it out, at  Apparently there is a push by record companies to charge for every song played on the radio.  Now, granted they’ve had a number of problems of late with pirated music and decreasing sales (the two sort of go together), but this is ridiculous, and, as the various testimonials and comments on the website argue, will have a very negative impact across the board.  Read more if you think this is just hype…

The bills under consideration to stop this tax are S. Con. Res. 14, the Local Radio Freedom Act, and H. Con. Res. 49, the Local Radio Freedom Act.  A list of senators and representatives who support local radio stations can be found here.
